Liverpool Football Club are getting close to agreeing on a transfer fee with AS Roma for the acquisition of winger Mohamed Salah.
If the deal goes through, and it’s looking like it could happen as early as tomorrow, it would not be only the most expensive signing in Anfield history but also surpass Sadio Mane as the most expensive African acquisition in Reds history. Salah, a former Chelsea man, who’s sale from Roma to LFC would net a £2.7m for the Blues, would be a great addition to the Reds attack, and fit in well in Jurgen Klopp’s system.
There are multiple reports out there, but here’s the latest from one of the most trusted sources, the BBC:
Liverpool are closing in on Roma and Egypt winger Mohamed Salah in a deal that could be worth a club record £39m.
The 25-year-old has been a prime target for manager Jurgen Klopp and could join for a fee which would eclipse the £35m the Reds paid for Andy Carroll in 2011.
The Egyptian could help provide Liverpool the scoring punch they need if/when the next time the injury prone forward Daniel Sturridge goes down. Multiple sources are indicating that he is England today on his way to completing the deal.
