Liverpool Starting XI Prediction at Brighton & Hove Albion

When Manchester City beat Liverpool last week it closed the gap between first and second place to a margin that was less than 22 points. That’s the magic number, set in 2017-18, when City finished first, and their neighbors United were the closest competitor, way down in second place.

Since the second and final Liverpool-City meeting of the season, the margin has now gone back up to 23, and with five games to go, we’ll see if the Reds nab this record as well. They may not, as manager Jurgen Klopp looks set to keep giving youth players more chances down the stretch here.

Liverpool FC are now on a quest to join 2018-19 Manchester City, and become just the second Premier League side to hit the century mark in season points. They just need 11 more out of the 15 possible remaining, and they’ll get there. Manager Jurgen Klopp says he’s not interested in breaking records, but c’mon, you know how competitive both he and his team really is.

If they win four more times, they’ll set the new benchmark for season points. Up next is a trip to the Amex Stadium, where they’ll face lower table Brighont & Hove Albion. The odds are definitely with the Reds on this one.

Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction vs Aston Villa FC

When Liverpool FC host Aston Villa tomorrow night, you really got to like their chances, even if the match will see some youngsters and reserves getting major playing time. Although it is likely that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp will rotate his side, we’re still talking about the runaway league champions versus a team in the drop zone.

It’s also a match-up that the Merseyside club have dominated over the history of the series, winning 95 times compared to the Villans 58. In fact, Aston Villa have not won at Anfield since September of 2014.

Liverpool vs Aston Villa Team News: Matip, Lovren, Gomez, Targett

Liverpool FC got absolutely thrashed in the honor guard game at Manchester City in midweek, but it’s understandable why. Having just ended a three decade long league title drought, the party was on, and of course a release (and subsequent let-down) was inevitable.

After the 4-0 shellacking, it’s now time to regroup, and try to get back on the winning track. As long as the Reds drop no less than three points the rest of the way, they can still eclipse the 2018-19 Manchester City record for season points, and go down as the most prolific team of the Premier League era. Up next is a home match against relegation fodder Aston Villa.

Liverpool Starting XI Prediction at Manchester City

As Liverpool play their first game at Premier League champions, conveniently at the home of Manchester City, the team they just usurped, we could see some squad rotation from Jurgen Klopp.

The German has suggested that he might be giving some chances to youth players in the final weeks as the title is now clinched. The Reds have 86 points thus far, and that means they need 15 more to surpass 2017-18 City for the Premier League single season record. With 21 points left for the taking, they cannot drop any more than six.

Liverpool at Man City Team News: Sane, Garcia, Milner, Matip

Here we go- the passing of the torch. For the first time in 10,650 days, Liverpool FC will play a match as league champions. Just a bizarre coincidence here, but the very first team they’ll face as titleists happens to be the side they knocked off the perch- Manchester City.

The Cityzens two year reign as league champs is now over, and that means they will greet their visitors with a guard of honor.

Jurgen Klopp Urges LFC Supporters to Celebrate Safely

Liverpool FC winning their first league title in three decades, and first of the Premier League era, is a big deal; a really big deal! After 30 years of hurt, LFC supporters are celebrating, but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is urging them to celebrate safely.

With the ending of the drought coming in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a double whammy of danger here. First you have all the perils that typically come when a city celebrates a sports championship and people in the city let loose; many using it as an excuse to get really wild and unruly.

Christian Pulisic Can Reach Mo Salah, Raheem Sterling, Sadio Mane Level, Says Frank Lampard

Heading into Sunday’s FA Cup quarterfinal clash at Leicester City, Christian Pulisic is Chelsea’s most productive player per 90 minutes played this season, but his ceiling is still far from being realized. The young American (apologies to David Bowie) has scored in both games of Project Restart thus far, and reached a new career high for single season goals, with still seven games left to play. This despite missing significant time due to injury in 2019-20.

The potential is there for the 21-year-old to reach much higher still. Manager Frank Lampard says that Pulisic could some day reach the class of Liverpool superstars Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, or City (and former Reds) galactico Raheem Sterling.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Admits Liverpool Title Clinch Hurt

Manchester United vs Liverpool FC is a very heated rivalry. It is to England what El Clasico is to Spain or Der Klassiker to Germany. United have more top flight league titles than any English club, with 20. Last night, by virtue of Chelsea beating Manchester City, Liverpool won their 19th.

It was their first in 30 years, and it’s so long ago that it wasn’t even called the Premier League back then. With such a long drought now over it’s a feel good story to neutrals, non-sports fans and even some supporters of some rival clubs. However, it still hurts to others, especially to those who are United through and through.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace Team News: Milner, Matip

Liverpool FC’s march to the inevitable, by that we mean the league title, has progressed along rather slowly since Project Restart initiated. However, they take three points, of the five they still need to get there, tomorrow night when they host Crystal Palace.

They’ll take on the Eagles without the services of midfielder James Milner, and perhaps defender Joel Matip too. On the status of both players’ fitness levels, manager Jurgen Klopp said: “Millie felt a hamstring a little bit, but we had this in the past. Millie is not often injured and hopefully it is not serious.”

Liverpool Starting XI Prediction at Everton FC

The Reds will head across Stanley Park for the Merseyside Derby this weekend, and with it a chance to move one step closer to the promised land. A win over Everton in the Sunday night clash will mean that Liverpool will then be just one more win or Manchester City loss away from the title.

The Anfield out doesn’t want to stop there however.
