Manchester United vs Liverpool Headlines FA Cup 4th Round Draws

Manchester United and Liverpool, two English giants and bitter arch-rivals, will meet in six days time for a Premier League fixture that will determine the top of the table. Then they’ll meet again about a week later in the FA Cup 4th round.

Liverpool Team News, Predicted Starting XI vs. Aston Villa (FA Cup)


Liverpool fell to Southampton in the first game of 2021, the third-straight frustrating result for the champions. The Reds are level on points with Manchester United atop the table, but United have a game in hand.

The focus shifts now to the FA Cup, where Liverpool will start the competition at Aston Villa on Friday. Liverpool’s last trip to Aston Villa saw them soundly defeated by a 7-2 margin.

A more contagious variant of COVID-19, which many to believe was first discovered in the United Kingdom is wreaking havoc all over the world. In the U.K. it’s led to more stringent restrictions in everyday life and now more cancellations within the Football Association.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Hits Back at Jurgen Klopp for Penalty Remarks

After their 1-0 loss to Southampton FC on Monday night, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp threw in a not-so-subtle sideswipe at arch-rivals Manchester United, ahead of their massive fixture at Anfield on Jan. 17.

Klopp slammed of referee Andre Mariner, over some calls he found very quesitonable, and in the process threw some shade thrown at the side that is level on points with them at the top of table right now. (You can read those comments at this link)

Jurgen Klopp Aims Dig at Man United as Crunch Clash Approaches

In the loss to Southampton FC last night Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was unhappy about Sadio Mane not winning a penalty kick off a challenge from Kyle Walker-Peters in the box. Additionally, Klopp believed that Saints’ Jack Stephens committed a handball foul, which should/would have awarded a penalty kick to Liverpool.

In stating how these calls/non-calls really grinded his gears, Klopp threw in a not-so-subtle sideswipe at Manchester United, ahead of their massive fixture at Anfield in 12 days time.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Jurgen Klopp Both Downplay League Title Race Talk

On Wednesday we learned that when Manchester United visit Liverpool in a little over two weeks, there will not be any fans allowed. That January 17 clash at Anfield is looming quite large right now as United, who have played one game fewer than their arch-rivals, can equal Liverpool’s current point total should they beat Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.

Yes, United are second, only three points behind the table-toppers, but there is still a hesitancy to talk about the Red Devils as true title contenders.
