Liverpool FC goalkeeper Alisson Becker was the world’s most expensive shot-stopper, for a brief period, when he was acquired from AS Roma. His transfer fee record was quickly eclipsed when Chelsea acquired Kepa Arrizabalaga, but can Kepa do this?

Check out this amazing goalie throw from his backyard into his own house achieved by Alisson. Watch it and you’ll see why it’s going viral. Also, this is probably the time for us to phase out that phrase “going viral,” something I’ve never really liked anyway.

Liverpool FC Title Celebration Still Possible Despite Suspended Premier League

liverpool

Liverpool FC, as well as their fan base, have been anxiously awaiting the conclusions reached from today’s emergency meeting of the Premier League clubs. Liverpool are 25 points clear at the top of the table and need just two more victories to clinch a first league title in 30 years.

So they have the most to lose of any club, should the season be null and void due to the coronavirus pandemic. This level of anxiety is perhaps best illustrated by LFC super supporter and late night talk show host/comedian John Oliver. With Premier League fixtures initially on hold until April 4, there was a lot of uncertainty surrounding what the football chiefs were going to announce on Thursday, March 19. There was even talk the season could end, with LFC being named league champions, which isn’t exactly the way most Reds fans wanted to see the long title drought end.

Jurgen Klopp Issues Poignant Statement on Premier League Suspension

jurgen klopp

Just 11 days ago, Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp scoffed at the notion of the coronavirus outbreak negating his side’s title season. At the time, he was totally fine in taking such a position, because that was the world we lived in.

Things have escalated quickly since then. Actually, they escalated at a pace that’s unprecedented. And as of this morning, the Premier League has suspended play until April 3. With LFC champions-elect, and set to end their top flight title drought (which extends back to 1990), they certainly have the most to lose, of anyone, now that the 2019-20 PL season is in limbo.
