Liverpool FC’s march to the inevitable, by that we mean the league title, has progressed along rather slowly since Project Restart initiated. However, they take three points, of the five they still need to get there, tomorrow night when they host Crystal Palace.

They’ll take on the Eagles without the services of midfielder James Milner, and perhaps defender Joel Matip too. On the status of both players’ fitness levels, manager Jurgen Klopp said: “Millie felt a hamstring a little bit, but we had this in the past. Millie is not often injured and hopefully it is not serious.”

Manchester United Land Three on Golden Boy Award Short List

The 2020 Golden Boy award shortlist was announced today and the Premier League was very well represented on it. Manchester United, as well as Chelsea and Arsenal, all landed three names each on the list, which runs 100 long.

Two more teams, Manchester City and Liverpool, saw a pair of their players named to the list, while the English top flight landed 18 as a whole. Joao Felix won last year’s award which honors the most promising, fastest rising U21 footballer in Europe’s top leagues.

Chelsea FC Reportedly Close to Signing Timo Werner

Strongly linked with Liverpool FC this past winter and spring, it’s rather surprising to hear that Chelsea is the club moving towards sealing a deal for Timo Werner. Accoridng to German paper of record Bild, the RB Leipzig striker’s camp is currently in advanced talks with Stamford Bridge.

Werner, 24, has been linked to Chelsea, as well as several other clubs, but Anfield have long been regarded the strong favorite. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp even reportedly had a video conference with Werner this spring.

Liverpool FC Show Support for Black Lives Matter

On Monday, Liverpool FC’s official social media posted a photo of their entire squad taking a knee together around the center circle at their home stadium of Anfield. The gesture, a nod to former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick was done during today’s  training session, as a show of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.

The LFC twitter account posted the photo, with the caption Unity is Strength and #BlackLivesMatter.
