Fabinho Shoots Down PSG Rumors, Commits Future to Liverpool

fabinho

Fabinho, the Liverpool midfielder who just moved over to Liverpool this past summer, has been heavily linked in transfer rumors lately. It seems kind of absurd that he could be out the door already, but numerous outlets have reported that Paris Saint-Germain have an interest in picking him up.

Additionally, Corriere dello Sport claimed that AC Milan are ready to scoop him up. The Daily Express said that Juventus are interested in the the 25-year-old as well. Fabinho refuted all these claims and stated his desire to remain at Anfield.

Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction at Burnley FC

Liverpool and Burnley haven’t met very much in the Premier League, but when they have it almost always goes in the favor of the Reds. The Merseyside club has won six of the eight meetings, and lost just once. Wednesday night doesn’t look very good for the Clarets either, as they enter this match desperate for points.

Sitting 19th, they are one of the three sides that are currently in a relegation slot, and the other two have already sacked their managers this season. It’s a complete catastrophe for manager Sean Dyche, who led the side to a 7th place finish and a Europa League berth last season. That’s a rather steep drop off!

Liverpool FC vs Burnley Injury Report: Mane, Robertson, Brady

burnley

Coming off a very emotional win in the Merseyside derby, Liverpool FC will look to make sure they don’t suffer a let-down in midweek at Burnley. Sunday’s win was actually too emotional for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who celebrated the win in a manner that was so over-the-top that he charged by the Football Association for misconduct.

Klopp has since apologized for his actions. He’ll take the league’s second place side to the Turf Moor to face the team that’s currently second from the bottom. Naturally, the Reds are heavily favored in this one, but they could be without one of their fab three.

Comedian and Reds supporter John Oliver said of Jurgen Klopp in the summer of 2016: “Liverpool have one of the most entertaining managers in all of sport.”

“Not only is he a sensational tactician, an inspirational figure, he’s also a funny, angry German, and that is the best kind of German there is…He does not understand not doing things at full pace all the time.”

That candid description seems absolutely perfect given what Klopp did today, in celebration of his side’s 1-0 victory at Anfield over Everton today.

The Merseyside derby comes at the perfect time to get Liverpool FC refocused and quickly over the disappointment of the Wednesday night Champions League loss at Paris Saint-Germain. Reds manager Jurgen Klopp hit out at the officiating in that defeat, and the play-acting of Neymar frustrated Liverpool as a whole.

Defender Andrew Robertson spoke up against the Neymar theatrics, and now midfielder James Milner has publicly remarked on this topic as well. “You can’t really be surprised by that,” Milner said. “If you are surprised by that, you are a bit foolish.”

neymar

Whether you love, hate or have complicated mixed feelings about Neymar, you’re well aware of his notorious reputation for theatrics. If you’re a fan of Paris Saint-Germain and/or the Brazilian forward you may not agree with what opponents say about his tactics and methods, but you’re well aware of how truly polarizing he is in within the football world.

Jurgen Klopp Slams Officiating After Liverpool Loss at PSG

jurgen klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp watched his side fall 2-1 at the Parc des Princes tonight to Paris Saint-Germain in UEFA Champions League group stage action. The result, which saw Neymar break the record for UCL goals scored by a Brazilian (passing Kaka), left Liverpool in serious danger of not going through to the UCL knockout round.

Now the Reds, who made it all the way to the championship game last season, will need to beat Napoli at Anfield by the score of 1-0 or by two or more goals in order to go through to the final 16. Klopp was livid after the match, for a host of reasons.

Jurgen Klopp Says Liverpool will be “Brave” in “Very Difficult Game”

jurgen klopp david wagner

Ahead of the massive UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says his side, when they are at their best, “are really not so nice to play against.” (Kind of like what he said about his side’s record start in the Premier League: “it’s nice.”) Klopp made these remarks yesterday at his pre-UCL press conference, in which he also said his side needs to be “brave” in a “very difficult” game.

Liverpool went all the way to the title game, where they fell to Real Madrid, in this competition last season, but anything less than a win at the Parc des Princes tonight could put their current European campaign in peril. Their opponents are also feeling the pressure to win, as PSG are also not on solid footing when it comes to advancing to the UCL knockout round.
