Tottenham vs Liverpool Team News: Sissoko, Ndombele, Kane, Matip, Shaqiri

In June they met as UEFA Champions League finalists, but Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC are in two very different places right now. Spurs, who host the Reds on Saturday, have replaced their manager since that European final Saturday and currently sit in sixth place, still working on trying to make up ground on the top four.

The reigning European champions are now also Club World Cup champions and Premier League champions-elect. It’s the headliner fixture of the Premier League weekend, but the two sides still oceans apart in form right now.

Liverpool FC, Nike Announce Deal Reportedly Worth £80m Annually

liverpool fc anfield

It has been reported on and widely discussed for quite some time already, so today’s “announcement” is a rather anti-climatic, but hey it’s still a record-breaking deal. Liverpool FC and American sportswear producer Nike made it official today- they will do business together, for the next few years.

After a bidding war that reportedly involved Adidas and Puma, not to mention a legal battle with current kit manufacturer New Balance (who have been with the Merseyside club since 2015), Liverpool’s new kit partner will be Nike, starting June 1.

Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction vs Everton (FA Cup 3rd Round)

merseyside derby liverpool everton

Liverpool FC are tied for fifth all time in FA Cup titles won, but they haven’t raised this specific piece of silverware since 2006. They are also tied for third all time in runners-up appearances, so the Reds are no strangers to making deep runs in this tournament.

While they are basically invincible in form right now (more or less), there is one manager who has beaten them this season- Carlo Ancelotti. He was with Napoli then, in the autumn, but as he leads Everton into this one he outlined the keys to taking down Goliath; uh sort of.

Liverpool vs Everton FA Cup Team News: Matip, Fabinho, Gomes, Iwobi

It’s a Merseyside derby in the third round of the FA Cup when Everton visits Liverpool on Sunday. The Reds are champions-elect in the Premier League and winners of the FIFA Club World Cup. How hard is it going to be to try and win the FA Cup too?

Only one manager has beaten Jurgen Klopp in 2019-20 and that’s Everton’s Carlo Ancelotti, who did with Napoli (2-0) in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Maybe he really knows something that other bosses just don’t this campaign? He’ll have his Toffees fired up for sure.

Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction vs Sheffield United

The unblemished season is not on the table for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, but an undefeated campaign is still there to be had. Knowing what we know of Klopp, i.e. the fact that he does not coast and relent, he may push his side to achieve such a feat.

The managers of both the second and third place teams in the table have already conceded the Premier League title race, but even with that acknowledged, one should still not expect the German to field a weaker side for any of the upcoming matches during this busy festive period of fixture congestion.

With a 13 point lead, and a game in hand to boot, halfway through the Premier League season, the title race is done and dusted and Liverpool FC are champions-elect. Just don’t tell manager Jurgen Klopp.

“We are a unit so we fight until somebody says ‘it’s enough’ and ‘you have enough points’ or not,” Klopp said following Sunday’s win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield. “We will see. But it’s not about belief. If we were not confident it would be really crazy but it’s not about knowing, or wanting to know, that it’s already done. Imagine, really, if you asked me and I sat here and said ‘yeah, actually, I think it’s done’…That would be really crazy.”

Liverpool Starting XI Prediction, Team News vs Wolves: Henderson, Matip

liverpool fc anfield

With a ten point lead and two matches in hand to boot, Liverpool FC have wrapped up the Premier League title. The managers of both the second and third place team in the table have already conceited the title race, so what’s left for Jurgen Klopp’s men to play for? How about 100 points?

Breaking 2017-18 Manchester City’s single season points record? Completing the 38 match slate with no losses?

Their opponents tomorrow, Wolverhampton Wanderers, certainly have plenty of motivation, and confidence. Coming off a surprise upset win over Manchester City on Thursday, Wolves are just two points off the pace of the top four. So although they won’t be excessively rested, they’ll bring their A game no doubt.

Liverpool FC Starting XI Prediction at Leicester City

naby keita

Liverpool FC will head into their next Premier League fixture as champions of the world, literally. Having claimed the Club World Cup title in Qatar on Saturday night, the winners of the European championship last season can now focus on winning the English Premier League.

The team that is closest to catching them, Leicester City, will play host to the Reds on Boxing Day and here’s a plot twist, their manager, Brendan Rodgers, just happens to be the same guy who held the job at Liverpool before current boss Jurgen Klopp took over. It’s safe to say that Rodgers will do all he can to try and stop the Reds from putting the title race on ice.

Liverpool FC at Leicester City Team News: Wijnaldum, The Ox, Barnes

leicester city king power stadium

Here we go the Boxing Day match that will decide whether or not we have a Premier League title race in the new year. Table topping Liverpool FC heads to the King Power Stadium, with a ten point lead and a game in hand on second place Leicester City.

A Foxes win and maybe, just maybe, they’ll be another title contender still this season. The manager of the reigning champions, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, has essentially conceded defeat already in this regard. His side beat Leicester over the weekend, but they remain one point behind the Foxes.

Pep Guardiola Basically Concedes League Title Race to Liverpool

Manchester City beat Leicester City 3-1 this past weekend, but they are still 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool. The two time reigning Premier League champions are not even in second place at this point, as Leicester have acquired one more point than the Cityzens. And Liverpool still has a game in hand on both.

In 17 matches, the Reds have won 16 and drawn 1, taking 49 points of a possible 51. It’s an insanely torrid pace, one that could see the Anfield outfit break 2017-18 City’s record for single season points; with a couple games to spare no less! At this rate, City manager Pep Guardiola just doesn’t see a realistic chance of catching Liverpool at the top of the table this season.

Takumi Minamino Arrival Officially Announced by Liverpool FC

Happy January transfer window everybody! Business is now open! The first major signing, although not a huge monetary sum, is here and it’s the Merseyside club who closed the deal. Liverpool FC, the Premier League leader this season (and by a considerable margin), have added attacking midfielder Takumi Minamino, from RB Salzburg.

Reportedly, the deal included a release clause of about $9.5 million, which isn’t a ton of money, especially these days, but supposedly the Merseyside club value the 24-year-old at a level that is approximately triple that amount. Minamino underwent his medical yesterday with his new club, and today his arrival was officially announced:
