Tottenham Hotspur have more bad news on the injury front, with star man James Maddison set to be sidelined longer than expected.
The £40 million summer signing from Leicester City, who scored three goals and registered five assists in his first 11 matches with Spurs, admitted that the ankle problem he’s currently battling is the longest/worst injury problem that he’s faced during his entire career.

Maddison, a player who has become instantly beloved by the club’s supporters, told Amazon Prime Video Sport:
“This is probably the longest [injury] I’ve had, if it’s, say, three months, I’ve never really gone past that. It’s frustrating.”
Reports indicate that the initial timeline, which had him set to return in January, is now obsolete. It is looking much more like a February return, at the earliest, for Maddison.
Joining Maddison in the long-term injury category for Spurs is the following quartet: Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur, Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic. Eric Dier is also an injury doubt for the midweek London derby against West Ham.
There is good news though, as Cristian Romero is back from suspension and Pape Matar Sarr has overcome a hamstring injury to be available once again for selection.
