David de Gea Sees Save Streak Ended vs Burnley (Video)

It’s extremely rare for David De Gea to concede two goals in the same half, especially so at home. Heck, it’s extremely rare for the Manchester United #1 to even give up two goals in the same game! United welcomed Burnley to Old Trafford this Boxing Day, and in doing so saw themselves fall behind 2-0 by halftime.

It was an uncharacteristically bad half from De Gea, who did not look even remotely close to his usual dominant self. He also faced an absolute screamer of a shot, one that would be difficult for anybody to stop.

Steven Defour’s goal for Burnley is the first from outside the penalty area that David de Gea has conceded in the Premier League this season. He had saved all 32 of the previous attempts. Here are a couple different looks at this goal:

Pick that one out, De Gea. What a strike! ?pic.twitter.com/WkhwKAXvyp

What a strike from Steven Defour. Even David De Gea had no chance with that one #MUNBUR pic.twitter.com/UykDx2NYU2

De Gea is a top trending term on Twitter right now as we speak, but it’s mostly United schadenfreude. A lot of it is just supporters of rival clubs poking fun at De Gea and the concept of #DaveSaves and “De Gea can save your relationship FC.”
