Mousa Dembele Gives Tottenham Hotspur Yet Another Major Injury Blow

Tottenham Hotspur have suffered yet another injury blow with central midfielder Mousa Dembele going down for what looks like the rest of 2018. Scans have confirmed that the 31-year-old suffered major ligament damage to his ankle, and he will likely be shelved for at least the next six weeks.

Dembele, who is a very key cog to what Tottenham likes to do on the pitch every game, limped out of the win at Wolverhampton Wolves this past Saturday just seven minutes in.

The Belgium international will probably miss the following key fixtures: Arsenal twice (EFL Cup Dec 19 and Premier League Dec 2), Chelsea Nov 24, Barcelona (UCL) Dec 11 and Inter Milan (Nov 28).

It’s truly astounding that Tottenham have had as good a start to the Premier League campaign as they have considering all the potential stumbling blocks that could have gotten in their way. The club signed no one in the summer transfer window, their new stadium opening keeps getting delayed and delayed, and they have had more than their fair share of injuries.

The absence of Mousa Dembele is yet another major issues for Spurs to deal with. On the plus side, they have been able to overcome a lot thus far this season, so perhaps they will pass this test with flying colors too.
