We’ve said during these past two months that if there is a Tottenham Hotspur player most likely to leave White Hart Lane this winter transfer window it’s got to be Winger Andros Townsend. Today, it’s finally happened. Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy eventually broke his reported £14 million asking price, as Newcastle United acquired him for a reported £12 million.
The 18th place club have now confirmed the news.
According to Press Association Sport, Townsend could make his debut in the Premier League versus at Everton on Feb. 3rd. Newcastle beat out a whole host of clubs in the Andros Townsend derby including Southampton, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion.

It’s been a big week for unwanted Spurs, as White Hart Lane cast-off Emmanuel Adebayor found another new London home, Crystal Palace, yesterday.
Today, it’s Andros Townsend who will finally find playing time again somewhere. With Tottenham he found himself so deeply buried on the bench that he was demoted to the club’s Under-21 side. Although don’t feel too bad for him, as he was still getting paid quite handsomely to ride the pine.
