Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp did a Facebook Live Chat Monday night, and once again his comments were very newsworthy. Everybody is doing Facebook Live chats these days, but not everybody is as interesting and entertaining as the Liverpool manager.
The Reds are now considered the second most favored team to win the Premier League title behind Manchester City, but Jurgen Klopp is discouraging those type of wagers. “Keep your money,” he said.
What Klopp is encouraging is memorable football. He wants his team to play the type of ball that will get them remembered in the annals of LFC lore and Anfield history.
The German was asked what his biggest ambition was as Liverpool boss and he responded:
“Only to play football that we like to remember when we watch it back.”
“That’s how it is and I think that’s what you have to do in life, use the time you have together to create some moments which you really can enjoy and when you look back, you think ‘they were maybe a few of the best moments I ever had.’
“It cannot happen that we finish 15th when you collect moments like this so with the quality we have, it’s not possible.”
Klopp has guided the Reds back into the top four, for the time being, and that’s re-ignited league title talk. Here’s what he had to say on that topic:
“But I know what everybody wants to hear because there is a big rush in football and someone says they want to hear that we want to win the league.”
“Of course we want to win it, I don’t know when it will happen, but all I can say is that we will do our all for it if we are not too far away from the teams which battle for the title.”
