Liverpool shocked everybody, except for their most true believing supporters in the way that they manhandled Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal. The Reds were underdogs against City, so while Liverpool’s ousting of the Premier League champions in waiting was surprising, the way that they did it, by a whopping 5-1 score on aggregate, was certainly astounding.
The sports books certainly took note, substantially slashing the odds on Liverpool winning the entire competition.
Bookmaker William Hill had the Reds at 11/2, but dropped it down to 3/1 this morning. Now with the final four officially set, Real Madrid priced at 6/4 to win the Champions League, are the favorites.
Bundesliga superpower Bayern Munich are the second most favorable at 2/1. Liverpool’s 3/1 backing places them third most favorable in the UCL while AS Roma are the Champions League underdogs at 10/1.
Liverpool, as well as the three other teams, will find out who they have next in Friday’s draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon. It will begin at 13:00 CET and follow the UEFA Europa League equivalent, which is set to begin at 12:00 CET. It will be streamed live in the UEFA.com DrawCentre
