Yaya Toure Warns Man City of a “Very Angry” Jose Mourinho

Ex Manchester City midfielder and rumored Manchester United target Yaya Toure has put his former team on notice about next season. Toure warns City, who won the Premier League by a whopping 19 points over second place finishers United, that the Red Devils, and Tottenham Hotspur, are going to be real threats next season.

Part of his rationale centers around his belief that United boss Jose Mourinho is going to be very angry (possibly about finishing the season without a trophy, or maybe because City dominated the league so thoroughly), and hence strongly motivated next campaign to do something about it.

“Mourinho is going to be very angry,” Yaya Toure said in an interview with Manchester Evening News Sport.

“Tottenham are a good side. Fantastic. Man City can win again – but it depends. The World Cup is on, the players don’t have enough rest and have to come back and play again.

“If they don’t have injuries they can make it – but it’s going to be difficult because next year is going to be a different situation.”

City set Premier League records for wins, goals and points this past season, becoming the first side to reach the century mark in season total points. With numbers and facts like that, you can understand why they will be very confident heading into next season, and thus avoiding complacency will be paramount.

United have not finished above City in the table since Sir Alex Ferguson retired with a league title in 2013.
