Patrick McNair impressed in his debut last week in Manchester United’s much needed win over West Ham. The 19-year-old Northern Irishman got the call up to the big time due to the complete crisis in the back line. He played a really solid game, helping to shore up the Red Devils defense. It was such a solid effort that United Manager Louis van Gaal decided to give Paddy McNair another go round in the starting XI versus Everton.
He didn’t get the start, but the Red Devils got the win. In the very brief time that Louis van Gaal has been at United, this was by far his biggest win. Unfortunately, it came with a price.
Monday brought some bad news for McNair and his teammates. He will miss three weeks due to a hamstring injury. Luckily, the international break will consume two of those weeks, so it won’t miss all that much time.
