Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says that his kick to the head of Everton Defenderย Seamus Colemanย was unintentional.
Ibrahimovic told MUTV: “It was a physical game. They played hard. I heard one of the commentators say I kicked someone in the head on purpose, but it was a 50-50 duel and he pulled me down.”
“Trust me, if I want to kick someone in the head, I know how to kick someone in the head and make him fall asleep. That is the only thing I have to say.”
Entertaining and colorful as always, by Zlatan. He didn’t just explain the action, he did so in a very funny and “I’m the alpha male of all alpha males” kind of way.
The Irishmanย was previously linked to United in transfer rumors a couple years ago when he emerged as one of the Premier League’s top defenders, at that time. United were reportedly keen on landing Coleman in a swap deal involving former Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini, but it obviously failed to materialize. Don’t know how realistic that idea was in 2014, but its certainly not realistic today.
Not after he was labeled “pathetic” and “garbage” by Gary Neville.
Enough about Fellaini though, as he’s been discussed plenty. Getting back to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, here’s what he had to say about his goal, the only scoring strike from United in their trip to Goodison Park yesterday.
Ibrahimovic said: “I got a fantastic ball from [Anthony] Martial, and I saw the goalkeeper coming out, so I tried to time it right.
“I scored today but it only gave us one point. I would prefer to win and not to score, that is my way of thinking.”
