Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a horrific knee injury in last year’s UEFA Champions League semifinal against AS Roma that cost him the opportunity to compete in both the UCL final and the 2018 World Cup. This devastating setback was thought to be serious enough to keep him out for all of the 2018-19 season, but today brought some more positive news regarding the English international.

The 25-year-old has returned to training, and thus taken the next massive step forward in his long rehabilitation.

The Ox is back working out with the Reds in Dubai, providing a midfield boost. It’s obviously way too early to speculate on when the former Arsenal man could feature again, but obviously he’s projected to be back in action this regular season.

Having the Ox back in the rotation down the line will certainly help add depth to the midfield and that’s something manager Jurgen Klopp could certainly use, as he’s had to play some midfielders in defense at times, due to the injury crisis in the back line.

League leaders Liverpool are looking to achieve their first title since 1990 and they’ll need all hands on deck in order to reach this goal. The Reds have a phenomenal Manchester City team nipping at their heels.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been capped 32 times for England and featured 283 times during his club career.
