Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid Target Alisson Seeks Resolution on Club Future

Brazil and AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who is reportedly being targeted by Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool, seeks resolution on his club future before the World Cup begins this week. Roma have publicly maintained that he is not for sale, and according to Sky Sports, the Champions League semi-finalists have placed a £80 million price tag on him.

That is supposedly too rich for the blood of the club that Roma lost to in the UCL semis, who are currently in the market for a Loris Karius replacement.

Just last week, Liverpool scoring sensation and Brazil teammate Roberto Firmino admitted that he’s been actively recruiting Alisson in national team camp.

Quoting that Sky article: “Another source has told Sky Sports News that Alisson’s likely destination is Real Madrid. The reigning European champions still hold an interest in Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who is entering the final year of his deal.”

This could of course set off a chain reaction in the summer transfer market, which would see a goalkeeper merry-go-round of sorts. Courtois to Real could open the door to Allison to Chelsea which would then likely force Roma to go acquire an Allison replacement. The Brazilian #1 is confident and hopeful that this will all sort itself out before the World Cup commences.

In an interview with Globoesporte, Alisson said:

“There are options that we are working on, together with Roma and with respect for my club. We’ll see if something happens during this week.

“I believe that it will all be resolved before the start of the World Cup, or at least that is what I hope. To be honest, I’ve left it all in the hands of my agents. If it doesn’t get resolved before our first game [of the World Cup], then we’ll talk about it after because during it, my mind is only going to be 100 percent focused on Brazil.”

Brazil begin their tournament Sunday with a group stage clash against Switzerland.
