Chelsea Winger Willian Undergoes Arsenal FC Medical

Chelsea attacking midfielder Willian has completed his Arsenal FC medical with a deal expected to be announced later this week, according to reports in the Evening Standard.

The 32-year-old joined Chelsea from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013 and has played over 300 games, scoring more than 60 goals for the Blues. This season alone he contributed 11 goals in 47 appearances.

Willian Confirms Chelsea Departure, Arsenal Move Draws Closer

Brazilian forward Willian has confirmed his exit from Chelsea and said his formal goodbyes to the club and their supporters. Following the Blues’ 4-1 loss at Bayern Munich in the Champions League yesterday, the 32-year-old penned an open letter to fans.

His move to arch-rival Arsenal isn’t finalized and announced yet, but according to multiple outlets, it won’t be long until the transaction is made official. With his current contract completed, wherever he is goes next will be on a free transfer.

Christian Pulisic Injury Update Provided By Frank Lampard

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic injured his hamstring in the FA Cup final loss to Arsenal last weekend, but fortunately, it’s not too serious. On Monday, we received an incomplete injury update from Pulisic himself, via his Instagram account.

Pulisic let all his followers know that’s he alright and the injury isn’t too severe, but today, we received more information about the situation, via Blues boss Frank Lampard. Turns out, the American won’t be ready by opening day of the next Premier League season.

Christian Pulisic Finalist for Young Player of the Year Award

Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic was one of the best players in the Premier League, out of the restart, and as such he’s been rewarded by being named to Young Player of the Year short list.

Although Pulisic missed a significant amount of time due to an adductor injury suffered on New Year’s Day, and he struggled at first to get a regular place in Frank Lampard’s first team, the American has overall enjoyed a quite superlative first season in the Premier League.

Eden Hazard Feeling Fine, Should Feature vs Manchester City

Friday night sees a very highly anticipated UEFA Champions League clash when Real Madrid visits Manchester City. In the first leg of the two legs in this tie, City was victorious, by a score of 2-1, Madrid. A few days prior to that match, Eden Hazard sustained an ankle fracture, the second major injury that he’s suffered during his debut season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The €100 million signing finally got his long awaited and much discussed dream move to Real, but his debut campaign with the La Liga giants has been a total nightmare. The long break, and subsequent restart has given Eden Hazard a new chance this term, and although his minutes have been limited, he’s exepcted to feature tomorrow night.

Chelsea Starting XI Prediction at Bayern Munich (UCL Round of 16)

When Chelsea and Bayern last met, it was 165 days ago, and the world was obviously a very different place. Both sides were obviously in very different places back when that first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie was stage at Stamford Bridge on 25 February.

Bayern, who were 3-0 victors that night, are now Bundesliga champions (as always it feels) and essentially co-favorites with Manchester City to win the UCL this term.

Chelsea Team News at Bayern: Pulisic, Azpilicueta, Pedro, Willian, Kante

Saturday’s UEFA Champions League group stage clash, where Chelsea visits Bayern Munich, may be less than exciting. It’s almost certainly that this will be the Blues’ final clash of the 2019/20 season, as they’re down 0-3 from the first leg, going on the road and without the services of up to nine first team players.

With Christian Pulisic out due to a hamstring injury he suffered in the FA Cup final loss to Arsenal last weekned, Chelsea will be sans their most productive, efficient and exciting offensive player. Pulisic posted an update about his injury on his Instagram account Monday, and he should be fine by the start of next Premier League season.

Chelsea Star Willian Receives Formal Contract Offer from Arsenal

Arsenal are edging closer to signing Chelsea FC forward Willian after making a formal three-year contract offer, according to reports in Sky Sports.

The 31-year-old star has gone on to become a mainstay at Stamford Bridge since joining the club back in 2013 and he’s been a key contributor to the club’s success in recent years. However, the Brazilian will be a free agent this summer, with his contract expiring at the end of the 2019-20 season.

Christian Pulisic Gives Update on His Hamstring Injury

On Saturday, left winger Christian Pulisic reminded everyone just how critical he is to the Chelsea attack, and how big a part he must play in the plans moving forward. He scored within the first five minutes of the FA Cup final against Arsenal, but then injured his hamstring in the 46′ while splitting defenders and making a move on the opposing goal.

Bravely, he still took a couple extra strides and even fired a shot despite already realizing he injured himself. Chelsea never scored after Pulisic’s opener, and they went on to lose the title match 2-1. Moreover, the Blues final third was a shadow of itself sans Pulisic.

Chelsea FC Transfer Talk: Havertz, Gimenez, Hudson-Odoi, Willian

Chelsea next plays at Bayern Munich on Saturday, in the second leg of their UCL round of 16 tie. They enter the match down 0-3 on aggregate. Manager Frank Lampard will be without the services of five players in this Champions League clash. Three players, Christian Pulisic, Pedro and team captain Cesar Azpilicueta, got seriously injured yesterday in the FA Cup final loss to Arsenal.

Additionally, Jorginho and Marcos Alonso are not available for selection as both are suspended for that game. In other words, there isn’t much to look forward to on that front, so the summer transfer window is much more compelling right now for Blues supporters.

Arsenal News and Notes: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mikel Arteta

Like Manchester United wins the league, Liverpool owns the Champions League and Manchester City dominates the League Cup, the FA Cup is truly Arsenal’s garden. Today saw the Gunners secure European football by beating arch-rivals Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley Stadium in the FA Cup final.

Arsenal won the trophy for a record 14th time and this glory means that they have claimed four of the last seven in the competition. It also means the Gunners are headed back to the Europa League, which isn’t ideal of course, is still much better than no European football.

Chelsea FC News and Notes: Pedro, Pulisic, Azpilicueta


Chelsea lost the FA Cup Final, 2-1, to arch-rival Arsenal tonight, but their losses on Saturday go beyond just this match. They saw a trifecta of players go down with injury, and it’s near certain that the entire troika won’t be available next weekend against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Defender Cesar Azpilicueta, along with wingers Christian Pulisic and Pedro, all left early with injuries. It’s especially tough for the last name on that list, as this was his final game in a Chelsea shirt. Pedro, who left the match on a stretcher, is set to join AS Roma.
