Christian Pulisic Fitness Update Given by Frank Lampard

Christian Pulisic is progressing in his rehabilitation from an adductor injury, but it’s still going to be a bit before he’s fully match fit again. That’s a shame for Chelsea FC, who could really use him in the final third right now. As today’s draw with Arsenal conveyed, the Blues have been lacking in attack lately.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard said after the game that Pulisic had been performing well for his side, before he got hurt, and it’s clear they could really use him. Chelsea has had a run of form that has left that all important fourth position up for grabs, but it United, Sheffield and Wolves just haven’t stepped up to take it.

Mikel Arteta Labels Arsenal Visit to Chelsea a Must Win Game

We have seen signs of progress at Arsenal under Mikel Arteta, but they have been few and far between. Think of it like a garden, where the first signs of growth are small green shoots. The Gunners are currently mid-table and have a long ways to go if they are to solidly get back into Europe next season.

By Europe, we mean UEFA Europa League competition, because qualifying for Champions League is a far-fetched pipe dream at best. Up next is a visit to Chelsea on Wednesday night, a London derby that headlines the Premier League mid-week slate of action.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction vs Arsenal

Chelsea head into a midweek London derby looking to ramp up the scoring. The Blues really need to find some goals, somewhere, as they have failed to put it in net during all three of their recent Premier League defeats.

The problem is present at Stamford Bridge too, as the west London club have scored just five times in their last five league matches. Let’s take a look at what kind of team manager Frank Lampard could go with as he tries to augment the score sheet and beat arch-rival Arsenal.

Arsenal Starting XI Prediction at Chelsea FC

Arsenal FC  have drawn four of their first six games under new manager Mikel Arteta, but hey, it’s a lot better than losing! Things seems to be improving, a little bit, but the Gunners have still won just twice in their last 15 Premier League games. For a club with this tremendous size and glorious history- it’s totally unacceptable.

Arsenal supporters are deservedly upset by having to see their club relegated to the Europa League competition three seasons in a row, but now things could get even worse. Sitting mid-table, now well past the half-way point of the season, they have some work to do just to even get back to the UEL.

Arsenal at Chelsea FC Team News: Aubameyang, Pulisic, Kolasinac

chelsea arsenal

Chelsea FC hosts Arsenal on Tuesday night in a London derby that features two sides trying to get back to winning ways. It was a disappointing weekend for both sides as the Gunners managed just a draw against newly promoted (although they certainly have not played like a side with that designation this season) Sheffield United.

The Blues fell 1-0 to mid-table Newcastle United and in the process diminished the space for other top four contenders to catch them (if any can rise up and take it though). In looking ahead to the midweek clash, Arsenal will be without one of their main weapons, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is serving the second of his three match suspension.

Manchester United Transfer Talk: Bruno Fernandes, Boubakary Soumare

It is Manchester United vs Liverpool week, but now is the time for some transfer talk, as it appears Old Trafford is closing in on their first signing of the January transfer window.

Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes was potentially set to move to United in the summer, but for whatever reason, MUFC just didn’t make it happen. Here we are in the winter window, it now seems the Fernandes move will actually come to fruition.

According to ESPN, United are closing in on a deal, reporting that the club and player have agreed to personal terms.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction at Newcastle United

n'golo kante

In looking at what first team Chelsea manager Frank Lampard might select on Saturday when his side travels to Newcastle United, one must start by looking at the fitness of N’Golo Kante. The French midfielder had to sit out against Burnley last weekend due to a hamstring injury.

Arguably the side’s best and most important player, especially after the departure of Eden Hazard, he’s unfortunately had an injury-riddled 2019-20 campaign. He was expected to start last weekend, but was left out entirely after suffering a hamstring problem in training last Friday.

Chelsea FC at Newcastle Team News: Pulisic, Alonso, Schar, Manquillo

When Chelsea travels to Newcastle United on Saturday they will be without the services of a few players, including left winger Christian Pulisic. In an interview with ESPN, the American revealed that he is still a few weeks away from full fitness, as he’s set to miss out on the London derby against Arsenal next Tuesday and the FA Cup 4th round trip to Hull City next weekend, in addition to this weekend’s fixture.

“It’s been almost a week, and I’m just kind of taking it day by day. I’m just rehabbing every day. I’m doing my best to be back in the next week, the next couple weeks,” said the 21-year-old who suffered an adductor injury in training last week. “I don’t think it should be too long, so I’m just working every day, doing everything I can to be back on the pitch.”

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction vs Burnley FC

The two teams duking it out for the fourth and final UCL qualification position from the Premier League table has the same major problem- ridiculous inconsistency. Fifth place Manchester United and fourth place Chelsea have the same issue- beating the big boys, losing to the small sides.

Chelsea have beaten Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but they have also taken just one point from Bournemouth, Southampton, and Brighton & Hove Albion. Up next is a home fixture against Burnley, who currently sit 15th in the table. In the reverse fixture, Christian Pulisic netted a hat trick, but he’s out injured for this one. So who will take his place in the line-up? What about the other ten men on the pitch?
