Chelsea FC Transfer Talk: Havertz, Gimenez, Hudson-Odoi, Willian

Chelsea next plays at Bayern Munich on Saturday, in the second leg of their UCL round of 16 tie. They enter the match down 0-3 on aggregate. Manager Frank Lampard will be without the services of five players in this Champions League clash. Three players, Christian Pulisic, Pedro and team captain Cesar Azpilicueta, got seriously injured yesterday in the FA Cup final loss to Arsenal.

Additionally, Jorginho and Marcos Alonso are not available for selection as both are suspended for that game. In other words, there isn’t much to look forward to on that front, so the summer transfer window is much more compelling right now for Blues supporters.

Arsenal News and Notes: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mikel Arteta

Like Manchester United wins the league, Liverpool owns the Champions League and Manchester City dominates the League Cup, the FA Cup is truly Arsenal’s garden. Today saw the Gunners secure European football by beating arch-rivals Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley Stadium in the FA Cup final.

Arsenal won the trophy for a record 14th time and this glory means that they have claimed four of the last seven in the competition. It also means the Gunners are headed back to the Europa League, which isn’t ideal of course, is still much better than no European football.

Chelsea FC News and Notes: Pedro, Pulisic, Azpilicueta


Chelsea lost the FA Cup Final, 2-1, to arch-rival Arsenal tonight, but their losses on Saturday go beyond just this match. They saw a trifecta of players go down with injury, and it’s near certain that the entire troika won’t be available next weekend against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Defender Cesar Azpilicueta, along with wingers Christian Pulisic and Pedro, all left early with injuries. It’s especially tough for the last name on that list, as this was his final game in a Chelsea shirt. Pedro, who left the match on a stretcher, is set to join AS Roma.

Christian Pulisic Critical to Chelsea Creativity in Attack

As the clock hit the 60 minute mark in Chelsea and Liverpool’s second Premier League game in 2019-20, something just didn’t seem right. Maybe it was the lack of fans chanting “Allez, Allez, Allez” celebrating the day that Liverpool would finally lift the trophy, or it was the fact that team captain Jordan Henderson who has been so instrumental for Liverpool’s title winning season that he won the FWA Player of the Year Award.

Frank Lampard Declares N’Golo Kante, Willian Fit for FA Cup Final

Chelsea fans recieved some great news, via manager Frank Lampard, on the eve of the FA Cup Final. Two star players that were strong doubts for the cup clash, Willian and N’Golo Kante, are fit and available for selection. There is some bad news however, as midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek joins fellow midfield man Billy Gilmour on the long term injury absentee list.

While Willian and Kante could play, it still seems unlikely that either, or both, will be in the first team.

Christian Pulisic Says He Hasn’t Had Any Injury Issues Lately

When Christian Pulisic missed the FA Cup semifinal win over Manchester United last weekend, it was due to a mysterious, undisclosed injury. The following Wednesday, he only featured as a substitute, coming in midway through the second half, and absolutely bossing the portion of the game in which he was on the pitch.

He was then heavily involved during the Championship Sunday win over Wolves. Having missed some time for no clear specific reason, speculation mounted as to why he was absent. The American has now said that he didn’t have any injury issues, and that he’s good to go for Saturday’s FA Cup final.

Arsenal FC Team News vs Chelsea (FA Cup Final): Bellerin, Mustafi

Arsenal have provided an update on the team news ahead of their FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday and the Emirates club have some injury concerns going into the game.

The North London club ended their Premier League campaign with a 3-2 win over Watford which pushed them to eighth place in the points table. However, they will have to win the FA Cup to qualify for next season’s Europa League.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction vs Arsenal (FA Cup Final)

Olivier Giroud is one of the more intriguing storylines as we head into the London derby FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. The Frenchman notably proclaimed that the national stadium is his house after helping lead the Blues to a win over Manchester United in the FA Cup finale in 2018.

He’ll take on his former team here while riding a purple patch, having scored in his last four appearances. The 33-year-old has found himself to be Frank Lampard’s first choice to lead the line during the restart, and he’s responded by producing prolificly. How Frank Lampard Could Shape the Chelsea Attack in 20/21

It’s quite clear that an already potent attack is going to become even better at Chelsea FC next season. The Blues finished third in the Premier League in both goals scored and time of possession, with rookie manager Frank Lampard getting a ton of production out of his deep and talented group of forwards.

That final third gets beefed up even more this offseason, as centre forward Timo Werner is on his way in, as is attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech (Ajax). Additionally, we learned yesterday that Willian is likely to extend his stay with the club, and that negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen for Kai Havertz are progressing along.

Chelsea FC Transfer Talk: Willian, Kai Havertz

Thus far, Chelsea FC are the only team to really make a splash in the transfer window thus far, signing striker Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. The German joins Hakim Ziyech who was signed in the winter window on an agreement to join the team next season.

And the Blues are not done making moves that will further strengthen their already formidable attacking third. Some major transfer news today that relates to current winger Willian and Bayer Leverkusen forward Kai Havertz.

Pedro Will Leave Chelsea FC, Frank Lampard Confirms

It came down to the very last day of the regular season, but Chelsea FC have clinched a berth in the UEFA Champions League for next term. After the match, a 2-0 home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Blues boss Frank Lampard gave a very news worthy postgame presser.

He confirmed the departure of forward and Spanish international Pedro, a player that has been widely linked with a move away. Lampard also discussed how qualification for Champions League will help revenue, and thus be a big boon to player recruitment.
