Chelsea FC UEFA Super Cup Injury Report: N’Golo Kante, Willian, Antonio Rudiger

n'golo kante

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho (who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports) criticized his former player, Frank Lampard, for the first team he selected in his very first match as Blues boss. The result was a total disaster, a 4-0 loss to Manchester United, so it’s pretty easy to point fingers and assign blame.

Lampard discredited this take, maintaining that some of the more experienced and better players were simply not fit enough to be available. That includes N’Golo Kante, a former PFA Player of the Year award winner and now Chelsea’s best overall player with Eden Hazard gone to Real Madrid.

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction, Team News vs Liverpool (UEFA Super Cup)

frank lampard

Although it has only been one game, the #LampardOut chatter has already started among some Chelsea fans on social media. Yes, this concept is so ridiculous that we won’t be spending any additional time on it, but Chelsea FC manager Frank Lampard certainly does need a good result and he needs it now.

The Blues were absolutely thrashed at Manchester United 4-0 yesterday, but probably out-played the hosts for the first half, even in spite of what that scoreline conveys. Now comes their second all-big six clash in just four days as they’ll take on Liverpool FC in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night.

Frank Lampard Hits Back at Jose Mourinho Criticism of His Starting Lineup

Ex-Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was critical of his former player, Frank Lampard, taking issue with the first team selected by the current Blues boss in today’s 4-0 rout at the hands of Manchester United.

The Special One, now working as a pundit for Sky Sports, said that Lampard should have gone with a more experienced side at the start of the season opener. And the Chelsea managerial debutant has hit back at his former boss by rejecting that idea, and saying that the more established and seasoned players simply weren’t fit and/or available.

First Christian Pulisic Start at Chelsea FC Will Be a Major Event

You couldn’t ask for a larger stage and brighter lights than what Christian Pulisic will have for his Chelsea FC debut. The Blues will play at Old Trafford, the “Theatre of Dreams,” where they’ll take on Manchester United, the biggest soccer/football/futbol brand in the world.

Pulisic, the most expensive American born player in football history at $73,000,000 will try to do something that no Yank has ever done. We’ve seen USA internationals at big clubs before, but in lesser roles. We’ve seen USMNT members become stars in the English Premier League, but at much smaller clubs.

Sunday brings the headliner fixture of Premier League opening weekend, the only all big six clash you’ll get see in week one, Chelsea FC at Manchester United. The match also brings the Chelsea debut of Christian Pulisic, which will be a major event in and of itself (more on that here). It’s also a match-up of two clubs led by young, relatively inexperienced managers who are legends among supporters due to their playing days with their respective teams.

The optimistic belief of both clubs here is that Chelsea’s Frank Lampard and Manchester United’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer know the culture, from experiencing it, and thus have the bonafides to rebuild the club their historical mold.

Arsenal FC Acquiring Pair of Defenders: David Luiz, Kieran Tierney

Happy summer transfer window deadline day everybody! Arsenal are one of the teams to watch as this deadline day comes to an end, as they are extremely busy here in the 11th hour. The north London side didn’t get any action going until mid to late transfer window this summer, and they didn’t address their biggest need, the back line, until the tail end of the transfer business period.

They are reportedly currently finalizing deals for two defenders, hoping to get them over the line in time.
