Mykhailo Mudryk, reinstated to play only last month after not featuring competitively since December of 2024, is headed out on loan. David Ornstein, of The Athletic/New York Times reports that Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Chelsea for a season-long loan move, with just Mudryk’s personal terms remaining to be finalized.

Fabrizio Romano reported that the 25-year-old Ukrainian winger approved of a move to Spurs, and with that, withdrew his interest in any other potential destinations, including Leeds United.

Mudryk, who missed the past 19 months due to a suspension for failing a doping test, had been heavily linked to Leeds in recent days.

Mudryk previously played under current Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi at powerhouse of the Ukrainian top flight, Shakhtar Donetsk, who sold him to Chelsea in January of 2023 for £61m.

This deal is actually part of a vast inter-connected set of transfer narratives speeding towards conclusion as deadline day eve turns to actual deadline day itself.

In a separate deal, Tottenham signed Chelsea central defender Tosin Adarabioyo, with the 28-year-old Japanese international moving over on a permanent deal.

Adarabioyo replaces Kevin Danso, who will be joining Sunderland on an initial loan.

And all of these transfer dominos began falling, only after Richarlison, who was potentially open to a return to Everton, couldn’t reach agreement on personal terms.

Richarlison kiboshing the potential Everton return (and posting an angry social media post about it that’s going viral) led to Manchester City hijacking Tottenham’s hypothetical deal for Iliman Ndiaye.

Everybody got all that?

I hope so, because we actually need to continue on with even more deals that are in some way related to this.

Everton strengthens the attacking position group by adding Folarin Balogun from Monaco, and returning Jack Grealish for another season loan from City.
