Manchester United could be looking for more defensive help, and come January they may try to find it in Sheffield United centre-back Harry Maguire. The 6’4″ centre back could the target as Man U looks to find make the winter transfer dealings more exciting than the summer transfer window turned out to be.
So who is Harry Maguire?
Some one scouted by Sir Alex Ferguson last season. Sportsmail says the Red Devils were regulars at the Blades’ promotion near-miss in League One and it was indeed Harry Maguire that they were there to see. Now David Moyes is picking up where Ferguson left off, and possibly looking to make a “great buy” in a few months.
From the DailyMail:
He is likely to cost United around £4million, but compared with Phil Jones (£16.5m) and Chris Smalling (£8m), he could be a bargain.
Harry Maguire is about to reach a landmark at Sheffield United as he and centre-back partner Neill Collins are to play their 100th match together on Saturday against Carlisle.
The transfer window wasn’t all boring for United. They essentially scored an own goal for their offense by retaining Wayne Rooney. It was, in a way, their biggest signing of the summer.
