As Manchester United continue to increase in boringness every week, the disgust with Manager Louis van Gaal and his philosophy grows stronger and stronger. There’s been no shortage of rumors when it comes to candidates who could potentially replace him- Ryan Giggs, Pep Guardiola, Gary Neville, Massimiliano Allegri.
However, if The Mirror are to be believed, Old Trafford will be standing pat with what they have. United will actually be double down in a sense by going out a getting the team a Van Gaalactico.
Sunday Mirror Sport understands the focus will be on bringing at least one of the world’s stellar players to Old Trafford after Louis van Gaal admitted his current team aren’t good enough to win the Champions League.
Van Gaal and his employers are in agreement that the Reds have lost their X-factor in recent years and have drawn up a wish-list that includes Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Neymar, with a high-level source admitting: “A club like Manchester United must have a player who will be in the top 10 on the list to win the Ballon d’Or.”
Bale, Messi, Ronaldo. Sounds great if it actually happens. We’ve been down this road before though, and we’ve seen rumors of this sort obviously not pan out in the end.
