Tottenham Hotspur Team News vs Watford FC: Son, Eriksen, Lloris

For a team that finished in the top four in England and runner-up in Europe last season, things have derailed quickly for Tottenham Hotspur. Last time out, a shocking upset at Brighton & Hove Albion, it seriously looked like many of the players had just given up on manager Mauricio Pochettino.

To make matters worse, goalkeeper Hugo Lloris went down early with a dislocated elbow, and now the Spurs captain is out of commission until the New Year. So now it’s Paulo Gazzaniga in between the sticks until 2020.

So where does Pochettino go from here? Well, the next match is exactly what you want if you’re a THFC supporter, as they welcome Watford, the league’s absolute bottom side, to North London.

has a few decisions to make following the international break, with Christian Eriksen and Heung-min Son could be rested for this one, as the South Korean is coming off a very physical and emotionally taxing match in Pyongyang North Korea. Son admits his relief that no one was hurt in a goalless draw against the North Koreans, played in a stadium with only police, no fans and a broadcast that was delayed due to censorship reasons.

Son spoke openly about the opposition’s intimidating, physical play. Meanwhile Christian Eriksen is a doubt due to a dead leg, with the uncertain nature of his club future no doubt hanging over his head like a dark cloud.
