It’s the return of #DaveSaves as Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea made an absolutely phenomenal and beautiful save today at Stoke City. It’s an early nominee for save of the year in this very young Premier League season. Unfortunately, it kind of waste because the line in front of David de Gea couldn’t defend a corner well, and the Red Devils could only manage a draw with the Potters.
United still haven’t won at Stoke since 2013, and today saw their perfect season come to an end. United also conceded their first goals in league play on Saturday.
Have a look at that save though! It’s OMG!

“Obviously I’m not happy with it (the overall result), especially after such a great save,” United manager Jose Mourinho said in his postgame interview.
“Then you as a team you have to defend that corner after such an important save, but we couldn’t. They (Stoke) are big and strong in the air,” he continued.
Today we saw the first real weakness that we’ve seen from United in this very early part of the season- central defense. The Red Devils need to work on making this part of the field in front of David de Gea stronger.
