Manchester United Trolled on Social Media By Spanish Club UD Almeria

In the words of The Clash: “Spanish Bombs in Andalusia.” Yes, UD Almeria, an Andalusian club, which currently resides in the Segunda Division, Spain’s second tier of futbol, threw some Twitter bombs at Manchester United yesterday (transfer window deadline day in Spain).

The Rojiblancos announced the arrival of winger Arvin Appiah from Nottingham Forest with a tweet that offered a snarky quasi-apology to Manchester United.

Reportedly, the deal is worth £8 million, or what United paid Alexis Sanchez for the duration of time that it takes you to read this post (now we’re the ones being sarcastic). If you’re asking who? why? what?

Well, reportedly, United had been scouting the 18-year-old for a few months. Yeah, no offense to this kid, but I’m sure Ed Woodward and Ole Gunnar Solskajer are not broken up about this development.

As expected, this tweet got a lot of funny and smart-ass responses, all appropriate.

This one might be our favorite though:

Andalusia is beautiful though, and the Al Hambra palace in Granada (less than two hours away from Almeria) is a bucket list destination.
