Raheem Sterling had a breakout season last year, and he’s a central part of what they’re trying to do at Anfield this year. Just 18 months after signing his first contract extension at Liverpool, he’s looking to get the pay raise that he’s earned. Real Madrid were pursuing him this summer, and now Carlo Ancelotti is interested again. So one way or another, this will eventually lead to a pay raise for Sterling.
In the summer, Raheem Sterling was also being pursued by Barcelona; right around the time that they were purchasing his former teammate Luis Suarez. And now Ancelloti is after him for January.
“The Liverpool Echo are reporting that Raheem Sterling is next on the Galactico wish list and that their efforts to sign the youngster have ‘stepped up’ in recent days.
“Real are no doubt sniffing around Sterling because his Liverpool contract expires in 2017 and he appears to be stalling on signing a new deal with the Anfield club.”
