Liverpool returns to action at Anfield on Sunday afternoon following a 3-1 victory over Arsenal last weekend.
This week, they welcome Burnley. The Reds lost 2-0 earlier this season at Turf Moor, despite having more than 75 percent of the possession.
There should be some slight changes in the Liverpool line-up from the team that beat Arsenal.
Simon Mignolet made a big save in the second half that last weekend, helping keep Liverpool ahead of the Gunners before Gini Wijnaldum put the finishing touches on the match. Mignolet has been strong in net more times than not since returning to the starting line-up.
Liverpool will continue to start Clyne, Lovren and Milner in the back. All three played fairly well against Arsenal, especially Joel Matip. Ragnar Klavan also played well and could get the start against if Dejan Lovren isn’t healthy, but the Croatian has returned to training and is in contention to start.
With Jordan Henderson ruled out of Sunday’s contest, the midfield will remain the same as last week. Lallana and Wijnaldum in particular had strong two-way games against Arsenal, and that will need to continue against Burnley.
Liverpool were relentless in attack against Arsenal, as they normally tend to do against top English clubs. If Liverpool is going to replicate that performance, it may be without Roberto Firmino, who hasn’t trained all week. Divock Origi will start in his place with Mane and Coutinho flanking him if the Brazilian can’t go.
