Stop us if you’ve heard this one before. Manchester United seem to be targeting Brazilian star Felipe Anderson. We heard this one back in late August as deadline day approached. The source was Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.com, who then reported United made an offer of €40 million (Or about £21.9 million) plus bonuses for the 22-year-old.
Sources also told ESPN FC that Ed Woodward and company were pursuing the attacker.
Today’s Felipe Anderson gossip comes from The Sun, who write:
“Old Trafford chiefs are ready to meet the Serie A club’s transfer fee demands for the 22-year-old.”
Anderson has scored five goals from midfield this term and was involved in Lazio’s 2-1 win over table toppers Inter Milan just before the Christmas break.”
United were linked to Felipe Anderson in 2014 too. It was rumored that the Red Devils had a £18 million bid rejected for Anderson that summer. Maybe this winger target will work out? Memphis Depay and Angel Di Maria obviously did not.
