Manchester United host West Ham United on Thursday night, and when they do, it will see at least one player, Matheus Cunha, come off the injured list. On Friday, manager Ruben Amorim said, ahead of the win over Crystal Palace: “I expect to have Matheus in the next one [West Ham United], not this one.”

That statement has proved prescient, as Tuesday saw widespread reports of Cunha returning to training.

So while Cunha will be back against the Irons, Harry Maguire remains out with a thigh injury.  As Amorim said on Friday: “It will take a little bit longer, and we are taking care of him. Harry, the same.”

Elsewhere Benjamin Sesko has been out since before the most recent international break, with a knee injury. He will be sidelined until next Monday night at Wolves, and possibly even a match or two beyond.

“Sesko is going to take a little bit more time,” Amorim said at his most recent weekly news conference. “It will take a little bit longer, and we are taking care of him.”
