Saturday brings a London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace, with the two teams currently separated by five positions in the Premier League table. However, the higher side is not the one that you would normally expect it to be.
Ravaged by injuries, Spurs are off to a very slow start this season and the seat of Mauricio Pochettino could be warming up. Poch said he didn’t have a good time this international break too much, and that it’s time for his side to “refocus” now that league play has resumed.
“I didn’t enjoy too much,” he said of the break. “We were preparing lots of things, we were working.”
“We reviewed many things and we have been planning and talking. It is a strange period.”
“It was about re-focusing again on the competition and make a plan for the team.”
With a big fitness boost in full effect, the Argentine is ready to get back at it, and get this ship turned around.
“It is so important to re-focus,” Pochettino continued. “This is the squad that we are going to have until January, when the rumors will appear again. The most important now is the collective. We must put aside the individual situations and be all together again.”
At least he’ll have more options in selection this weekend. Let’s take a look at what the first team could be.
