Today is certainly a day for Belgian footballers making it publicly known that they will decide their club futures after the World Cup this summer. Simon Mignolet, who was the first choice goalkeeper for much of the season at Liverpool, until getting replaced by Loris Karius, has been linked with a move away from Anfield.
Having just two starting XI nods since the calendar flipped from 2017 to 2018, Mignolet could be on the lookout for a new club that could offer him regular first team football.
Simon Mignolet says that he’ll decide that after the World Cup in Russia this June.

Along a similar theme, Chelsea forward Eden Hazard said that he’s focused on the World Cup right now and not fixated on his contract situation/potential move to Real Madrid right now.
“I don’t know what the future holds for me,” Mignolet told Belgian website DH Net ahead of the national team’s international friendly with Saudi Arabia tonight in Brussels.
“I have three years left on my contract at Liverpool. Of course I want to play. The coach knows that, and I have talked about it with him. I will think about my future after the World Cup.”
“I keep focused, just in case. An injury, a suspension, anything can happen and change the course of a season. I stay professional in order to be ready.”

Speaking of Chelsea/Belgium news, the current #1 for both sides, Thibaut Courtois, is out injured currently, so it appears that Simon Mignolet is now in line in start tonight.
