VIDEO: beIN Sports scandalously edits Manchester United piece

All media outlets do hit pieces; all the time. With Manchester United being the biggest and most valuable brand in all of sports, they are a very big target. However, hit pieces, like all journalistic endeavors, should be a process that emphasizes integrity. Perhaps even more so than puff pieces, due to the highly sensitive nature of the content.

The facts should be able to stand for themselves. It appears at first glance, that beIN SPORTS took the opposite approach here, by deceptively editing a video of Manchester United players.

The YouTube below of the beIN piece makes it look like none of the United players could hit a simple target. It’s probably unrelated (who knows maybe it’s not, but it’s worth mentioning anyway) that beIN has the same ownership group as French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. And of course, one of this summer’s biggest football stories was the extremely protracted and very painful Angel Di Maria transfer from United to PSG.
