Manchester United midfielder and Vice Captain Michael Carrick signed a one-year contract extension this June. It’s possible that this will be his final seaon at Old Trafford. Carrick has told Sky Sports that 2016-17 might be his final year at the Theatre of Dfeams. He concedes he may have to accept that his future lies elsewhere.
“There’s always a chance of that, isn’t there?” he said.
“It is such a great club with great players. You can’t take it for granted, and thankfully I’m here this season and playing my part.”
“Hopefully I can play more of a part in the months ahead, strive for success and try to get some sort of silverware, because winning trophies is why we are here.”
We shall see if he gets a trophy this seaon with the Red Devils or not. It doesn’t look good right now. Looking at most top online betting offers, United now have much better title winning odds than they did when Louis van Gaal was still in charge. However, United are currently not even in the top four. They look a significant peg below the league’s five legitimate title contenders- Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hostpur, Arsenal and Manchester City.
