We all knew Rafael’s days at Manchester United were numbered when he was left out of the summer preseason tour of the United States. We knew playing time was going to be a problem for him at Old Trafford once Matteo Darmian was signed. Rafael didn’t feature all that much as it was.
Well today we learned his destination- Olympique Lyon. He’s headed to Lyon to play in French Ligue 1.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “Olympique Lyonnais informs of an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of Brazilian international Rafael da Silva, who will sign in the coming days a 4-year contract with OL, ie until June 30, 2019.”
Rafael then made a comment that showed what true class and professionalism is all about. He said he “choose number 20 because that’s how many titles Manchester United have.”
Like Angel Di Maria he may leaving United for a Ligue 1 side, but the way he dealt with it/handled it is the complete opposite.
