Time for your daily David de Gea update. It’s a a never ending soap opera like Arturo Vidal was last summer. Will he stay at Manchester United, or move to Real Madrid? Nothing is official yet of course, but here’s the latest headlines on the situation. We really thought this one was over. It seemed clear that De Gea was going to stay put right where he is, as talks had reportedly stalled out.
We thought the over-analyzed and incredibly tired storyline had finally been put to bed. Not so today.
Spanish paper AS says Louis van Gaal is ready to sell the goalkeeper. Other outlets, like Sky and ESPN FC are picking up on this as well.

De Gea definitely looked out of sorts Wednesday night as United lost 2-0 to Paris St. Germain at Soldier Field in Chicago. There’s been lots of talk lately that he’s distracted and/or unsettled, and he certainly appeared to not be himself in the Red Devils final exhibition. Of course, the two goals surrendered can be blamed on the defenders in front of him as much as on the goalkeeper himself.
Outlets in multiple countries are claiming Louis van Gaal has recommended the sale of De Gea to the board. We’ll see if these reports go through or not this time. We have heard this before.
