Manchester United have just completed a huge week, and the results were mixed to say the least. Now they are on the final international break of 2018. Although it’s a break period, there is still plenty of news circulating on this Tuesday. Let’s take a look at some of the relevant news and notes making the rounds within the Manchester United community online right now.
We start with the Sweden Golden Ball Award, which saw Victor Lindelof, not Zlatan Ibrahimovic, claim the honor.
The Manchester United central defender got off to a very rough start at United, but he’s now secured his place in the first team and established himself at Old Trafford. Lindelof, who has been stellar with the national side as well, beat out the former United striker who now plies his trade in the MLS.

Congratulations to Lindelof.
Although Ibrahimovic missed out on this award, he can take some solace in the fact that he beat out former teammate at United, Wayne Rooney, for the MLS Newcomer of the Year award. Here’s a link to more on that.
By the way, Thursday is the Wayne Rooney Foundation International, or the new name of the England-United States friendly, i.e. the most newsworthy match on this slate of internationals. Go here for more on that.
Elsewhere, the club’s Academy Coach, Nicky Butt says that Sunday’s Manchester Derby conveys how City has surpassed United for the time being.
“For Manchester United now we have got a challenge on to get back to where we want to be, which is the biggest club in the country, but also in the city,” the United legend and member of the Class of ’92 told the Premier League Sports Network event.
“That challenge is there for the owners, the board, the manager and the club in general to be where we want to be. And, to be honest, we have got a challenge on our hands to get there.”
