In the wake of the Manchester United 0-0 draw with Chelsea, we have two apologies today. There’s one from each side directed at the opponent. Striker Anthony Martial received his “my bad from Chelsea Defender Kurt Zouma

According to the Daily Mirror, “The pair have played alongside each other through various age groups at international level for France, each going on to earn full honours, with Martial playing six times for Les Bleus and Zouma twice.”

“Very Tough game today, good point.. let’s keep it up… Sorry my bro @martial_9 well played,” Zouma posted on his official Instagram account.

They seem to be on really good terms, even though this mea culpa is really essentially trash talking. Moving on to another United striker, Wayne Rooney gave his “my bad” to Chelsea’s Oscar today. Rooney committed an infraction on Oscar that should have yielded a red card.

“It was accidental,” Rooney told BT Sport. “I knew straight away I caught him and could have caused him a bit of damage, so I apologize.

“I apologized on the pitch, nothing was meant and I think the referee saw there was no intention of hurting him. He’s given me a yellow card which I probably deserve.”

It seems like Rooney really got away with one yesterday.

Howard Webb, who refereed the 2010 World Cup final, said on BT Sport: “It is clear when you see it in slow motion that Wayne Rooney should have been given a red card.”
