Cesc Fabregas, Antonio Conte Apologize for Dirty Tackle Last Night

Chelsea Midfielder Cesc Fabregas committed a horrific tackle on Liverpool‘s brand new defender Ragnar Klavan last night. For a preseason “friendly’ this was truly an astounding act. The straight red card level infraction turned the exhibition match very “unfriendly” in a hurry.

Things became heated, and tempers flared on both sides in the International Champions Cup Match won by Chelsea 1-0 at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, USA.

Have a look at the video below:

The incident made the sent-off Cesc Fabregas a top ten trending term on Twitter worldwide in the late night hours. Much of what people said about him wasn’t exactly pleasant either.

Credit the 5’9″ Spaniard for quickly apologizing though. He reached out to Klavan and LFC and issued a “my bad,” according to Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp on Fabregas' red card tackle on Ragnar: "It’s a red card. Fabregas came by us in the dressing room and said sorry." #LFC

Conte added a mea culpa as well: “I am sorry and the player is too.

“I am sorry for him and the Liverpool player. In this period the fatigue can sometimes bring a bit of going too late and I know Fabregas is a good man and it is not his habit to have this sort of situation.”

Of course, we all know about the temper and ferocity Fabregas has, remember when he dropped this expletive laden rant about Chelsea’s season last November?
