There will likely be a fourth major signing for Manchester United this summer, but it might not be the guy who’s been linked in all the back pages lately. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly were the first two of obviously. The third was Henrik Mkitharyan, confirmed in a spiteful post by Borussia Dortmund last week. Supposedly next up is/was Hirving Lozano, a 20-year-old striker for Mexican club Pachuca and the Mexico National Team.
According to the player’s father-in-law he is join United after the Summer Olympics.
Lozano’s father-in-law told Futbol Entre Lineas: “Yes. It’s all done. Just missing some details and, after the Olympics, the deal will become official.”
That is news to Lozano; who says he is completely unaware of any interest from Manchester United.
“It’s nice to hear people talk about a potential move to Manchester United, but it would have been better if it was actually a fact,” he is quoted by the Daily Express as telling Record.
“I don’t know anything about United’s interest. If the club tell me anything, then we will see, but I don’t know anything about it at this stage.
“I am at Pachuca now and we will see what happens in the future.”
The Mexican wunderkid had previously talked up a potential move to United, but for now, it doesn’t seem that a Hirving Lozano move is in the works.
The young forward scored his first senior goal for El Tri in March during World Cup qualification.
