Manchester United Twitter account makes unorthodox statements

I thought we had already settled this, regarding Manchester United striker Robin van Persie. Usually official accounts don’t make statements on actual news. They never really say anything newsworthy. At least not until long after everyone knows. Most official accounts just tweet promotional stuff.

By now you’ve heard the news that van Persie is happy at Old Trafford. This disputes the earlier claims that he was unhappy with Manchester United and looking to leave. You’ve heard the opposite is true, from van Persie, and from David Moyes, now you hear it from the official Twitter Manchester United account.

.@Persie_Official says: “I signed for four years and I’d be delighted to stay even longer. I’m happy with my team-mates and my manager.”

RvP: “The truth is I’m very happy here… although it’s not what has been suggested in the media.” More: https://t.co/fFYnaCMwc1

Just in case you missed it last night… @Persie_Official reveals he’s very happy at #mufc and wants to stay: https://t.co/fFYnaCMwc1

We already all knew this, why belabor the point? And then bring it up yet again?
