Manchester United Manager Jose Mourinho was spotted scouting Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Mijat Gacinovic Friday night in Serbia’s 3-2 loss to Austria.
The Daily Mirror even has a photo of Mourinho at the match, rocking a grey baseball cap, looking (or at least trying to look) incognito. The Mirror reports that United will face serious competition from Arsenal and Bayern Munich in the race to acquire the youngster, “who at 22 years old has been identified as one of the most exciting young talents currently operating in the Bundesliga,” the Mirror writes.
Who got Gacinovic on Mourinho’s radar? Well according to the article’s sources, it was another Serbian midfielder, Nemanja Matic.
Mourinho’s manager on the pitch/midfield maestro that he brought over from his most recent former club this summer supposedly tipped the Portugese in the direction of Gacinovic, who impressed Matic with his talents, work rate and ability.
