Louis van Gaal said he is sick of answering questions about Wayne Rooney and his poor form.
‘I have to talk every week about Rooney, why?’ the United manager said. ‘You have your opinion – write it. I don’t give any more answers about Wayne Rooney. I am sick of them.’
There was no scoring at all in the Manchester Derby. The dull, lifeless 0-0 draw barely even saw many scoring chances or shots. Rooney wasn’t a big factor, but you could say the same thing about all the attacking players who failed to show up. About the only thing entertaining in regards to Rooney today was the massive head wound suffered by the Manchester United strike. Lots of Twitter users keep making the same “Manchester is Red” comment over and over.

Wayne Rooney suffered the gash after colliding with Manchester City Captain Vincent Kompany. Red Devils team medics stopped the bleeding with a staple gun, and he continued on in the match. As much as Rooney has been ripped by fans and pundits alike for his play during league competition this season (much of that criticism is deserved too), you’ve got to commend him here.
The Captain of both Man United and England was willing to press on despite a grotesque looking injury such as this-
