PSG Targeting Man United Forward Anthony Martial Again

As we draw closer to the opening of the January transfer window, exactly one month from today, there’s a major Man United transfer rumor circulating in the Twitterverse, blogosphere, cyberspace and media world. We’re not sold that this will actually happen, but it’s interesting to read about nonetheless.

It’s definitely worth mentioning as I definitely believe the narrative indicating that Paris Saint Germain want to pluck forward Anthony Martial away from Old Trafford.

According to The Sun, a United source told them:

“It is well known PSG are very keen if the club does consider selling.

“He has been dropped recently against Feyenoord and West Ham and has generally struggled for form.”

Mourinho warned Martial last week that he was fighting for his Old Trafford career and his chances were running out.

The Special One said: “You have one opportunity, you have two, you have three, if you don’t bite then somebody comes and takes the bait.

All Anthony Martial did last night was go out and bag a double in United’s 4-1 trouncing of West Ham United in the EFL Cup Quarter-Finals. United acquired the Frenchman, who’s often drawn comparisons from Thierry Henry, from Monaco in a 2015 summer transfer window deadline day stunner for a £36 million fee.

Many slammed the deal at the time, as the price seemed extremely exorbitant, but now in retrospect, it was totally brilliant.

Martial was United’s best outfield player last season, and your so-called evaluation tools actually showed that United made one helal of a deal there to acquire him. As we would later learn in 2016, £36 million isn’t a lot of money for a player anymore.

Although Martial was acquired mostly by Ryan Giggs, who is no longer with the club, I still have a very hard time believing that United are ready to part with him. Yes, he hasn’t found his way under Mouriho yet, but I’m sure they’ll figure it out. Last night was a great start.

I’m sure PSG are really interested, but I don’t see United selling him in January, or next summer.

I give the Anthony Martial transfer rumor a low rating, when it comes to plausibility of actually occurring.
