The last time that Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool met, back in mid-September, it was supposed to be the match that opened the new stadium at White Hart Lane. That original new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opening date kept getting delayed and delayed, and now Spurs’ next home league fixture will be the very first in the new venue.
The youth team has played one “test match” already, with Spurs alumni to play a second test match tomorrow.
Tottenham lost that home clash versus Liverpool 2-1, and they will be hard pressed to overturn that result in the reverse fixture.
That’s because Liverpool seems to be getting healthier and healthier at the time that they need it most, plus Spurs don’t seem to be in the best of form as of late. Not to mention that they’ll be playing in an Anfield atmosphere that should be as animated as possible, given the stakes.
