Mohamed Salah was the best individual player this season for not just Liverpool, but the entire Premier League. All of us who watched/are watching the UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid lost when the Egyptian international was forced to leave the game early due to his having suffered a shoulder injury.

It’s not just the Reds and their supporters who missed out, it’s everyone who enjoys watching the most brilliant players of the beautiful game.

It was a gut-wrenching experience to watch Salah leave the pitch early in tears; he was then replaced by Adam Lallana. Mohamed Salah got injured in the 24′ due to a collision with Madrid defender Sergio Ramos. The play, which you can see video of below, has inspired a fierce backlash from football fans on social media against Ramos.

Here are just a couple examples of the kind of tweets we’re seeing about Ramos right now.

Honestly, that was a disgrace from Sergio Ramos. He's ended @MoSalah's night, and possibly his World Cup with a cynical, horrible foul. Believe me, Ramos knew what he was doing there, dragging the arm down like that and holding. Red card all day. #UCLfinal

As of this writing, Real lead Liverpool 3-1 very late in the second half, so barring a miracle, it was a European three-peat for the current champions.
