Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is perhaps the best homegrown young scorer in England. He had a major breakout this past season and provides a cornerstone for Spurs to build around if they are to progress beyond their Europa League mediocrity.
However, Manchester United are ready to swoop in with a big money move to get him. Watch this space!
From the Manchester Evening News:
Ed Woodward is ready to lock horns with football’s ultimate negotiator Daniel Levy in what would be an audacious move for Harry Kane.
And if successful, Manchester United’s executive vice chairman would be truly deserving of comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo and more.
Woodward was branded the ‘Ronaldo of football’s commercial sphere’ after United became the sport’s first $1bn brand under his watch.
Yes, 1 billion.
The Ronaldo of the front office- quite the powerful analogy there.
The reported figure is £50m, just £9.7 off the the amount for Angel Di Maria last summer; which set a new British transfer record. With Radamel Falcao gone and Robin Van Persie very likely heading out the door as well, it’s apparent that United really need to do something in order to bolster their strike force. Perhaps Harry Kane is the answer?
