Some more Manchester United transfer rumors for you on this Thursday. According to the Star, United are keen on landing Southampton captain Adam Lallana during the January transfer window. Lallana is supposed to cost around £15m-plus and reportedly his camp are well aware that United are interested.
The 25-year-old midfielder is under contract until 2018, after striking a new five-year deal in April. So we’ll see how that works out.
Manchester United are also pursuing Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik and will submit a substantial bid this month. This according to Mediaset. Napoli Chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis would be much more likely to strike a deal if the price tag reaches £25m, leaving David Moyes with plenty of the Glazer family’s money to work with.
Also, Manchester United are supposedly the clear favorites to obtain Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, and to get a deal done this January transfer window says Skybet. Not sure I put any weight into this one as Ander Herrera has stated that he will not be leaving Bilbao this month: “I’m very happy here. I’d love to succeed here.”
That was reported yesterday, along with a Fox Sports soccer report that he will be staying put.
Sensing a theme here? Midfielders, midfielders, midfielders. Which is to be expected and is nothing new. The midfield position dominated the summer transfer rumors regarding Manchester United as well.
