Alexis Sanchez is a creative playmaker and dangerous finisher that every opposing side must game plan around. He’s a formidable opponent who commands the utmost respect of Sevilla manager Vincenzo Montella. On the eve of his side’s home leg of their UEFA Champions League draw against Manchester United, Montella gave a very “creative” or “interesting” response to the question of how to stop Alexis Sanchez?
“Well, maybe we can lock him up with a padlock or tie him up with rope,” Montella answered.
That’s one way to provide defense in the final third.
Montella remembers Alexis very well from when the Chilean was cutting his teeth, coming up with Udinese. Montella has observed and appreciated Sanchez’s development over the course of the 29-year-old’s career.
“He has improved his style a lot during his career and I think he can be a really good player in transition,” the Sevilla manager continued.
“I think they have really good speed in attack.”
