Just two days until the summer window closes, so there’s a ton of Liverpool FC transfer narratives to discuss on this Tuesday. Let’s dive right in.
–ESPN FC is keeping a live blog running with the headline “Liverpool’s spending spree that could top £250 million to continue. ESPN points out that Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also remains on Liverpool’s list despite multiple reports yesterday that Chelsea have agreed to a fee for him.
NBC Sports have the Ox on their five players to watch as the transfer window deadline approaches, writing that “The versatile England international just turned 24 and has shone in a wing-back role for Arsenal over the past 6-8 months. Oxlade-Chamberlain can get UEFA Champions League action at both Liverpool and Chelsea, while Manchester City are said to be long-time admirers too.”
-The club officially announced the signing of RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita; who will join the team next season when his release clause kicks in.
-Another big time target that Liverpool remain in hot pursuit of is Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar; here’s a link to more on that.
-Finally, our last item of the day, regards Liverpool rejecting a £25m Mamadou Sakho bid, from Crystal Palace. This is the third bid made by the London club for the defender. According to the BBC: “Palace chairman Steve Parish made the offer on Tuesday in a deal that was worth £22m plus £3m in add-ons.”
