The most recognizable sports brand in the entire world, Manchester United have the richest sponsorship deals. The latest polls state they have 680,000,000 supporters worldwide. The new shirt, as the club switched from Nike to Adidas is a huge hit. The German sportswear maker paid the English football giants a world record £750 million, or $1.1 billion to be their provider.
The early returns are astounding!
Adidas says the home kit launch delivered a month’s worth of sales in five days, and global retailers have reported 200 per cent rise in day one sales compared to last year’s launch. (h/t Daily Mail)
It’s the most successful kit launch in both club and brand history. Sales records have been shattered!
In honor of making their first Manchester United kit in 23 years, Adidas released these teaser videos a week ago; and these videos earlier today. Daley Blind and Phil Jones modeled the new Manchester United kit at Texture bar in Manchester. Here’s a link to photos and videos of that.
