Zlatan Ibrahimovic may have played his final game in a Manchester United shirt tonight having suffered a serious knee injury that could rule him out for the rest of the season. With his future still up in the air, and other clubs looking to pony up major money in order to procure his services, this might be the final time we see him in the red kit.
“I don’t think they are easy injuries, but I prefer to wait until all the tests are done and then speak. But the news is fairly negative I think,” United manager Jose Mourinho told BT Sport.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is United’s leading scorer this season, and pretty much their lone offensive weapon. However, if this is the end, young Marcus Rashford (who scored the game winner in the 107′) does look capable to step up in his place.
“It is an important title and we have to keep going. Today showed how difficult it is. We are not expecting anything easy in the semi-finals.”

The right knee of Ibrahimovic bends the wrong way as he lands awkwardly following an aerial challenge in the Anderlecht box, leaving him in serious pain on the pitch. A stretcher was brought on, but Ibra refused it, instead choosing to hobble off. The injury looks remarkably similar to the serious setback suffered by Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma.
That’s not a good sign for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. This could be ligament damage.

Here is the Mourinho postgame interview in which he made the comments that are rather pessimistic about the health status of Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic:
