Not everybody on Twitter disliked Manchester United’s new third kit, which was rolled out this week. It’s just that a very overwhelming majority of those who did comment about it on the micro-blogging platform gave it harsh reviews. Of course, you have to remember that’s what social media is.
With most things, the loudest people are the critics, and the complainers are much likely to comment than those looking to heap praise.

The Man United third kit, designed by Italian 21-year-old fan Aniello Carotenuto, is not an exception to this rule. The jersey is inspired by the famous statue outside of Old Trafford that features club icons Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best and Denis Law.
You can see the Red Devils holt trinity at the bottom of the strip, but among fans that is not the defining characteristic. It’s the grey hue that that everyone seems to be talking about.

Grey is an unfortunate color choice, as this shirt looks quite similar to the one sported during the 1995-1996 season; and dubiously voted the club’s worst ever kit in a fans’ poll by the Manchester Evening News. It’s the same shirt that Sir Alex Ferguson infamously instructed his team to change out of during a disastrous result at Southampton.
Thus, you have plenty of grist for the mill regarding the Man United third kit. Let’s get to some of the more entertaining mean tweets on this topic.
