Dele Alli is a budding young superstar for Tottenham Hotspur, but early on he’s seen his 2018-19 campaign has been marred by injury. And now it looks like things are going to get worse before they get better, as his hamstring injury that he suffered while on international duty with England earlier this month has flared up again. According to multiple reports, he’ll miss a month.
Alli suffered the set back against Spain, which forced him to pull out of the Three Lions squad. He then missed Spurs’ next league fixture, a 2-1 loss to Watford and also UEFA Champions League group stage loss to Inter Milan.
He did see action against Brighton last weekend and play the full 90 in the League Cup win this week, but he also missed the huge meeting with Liverpool at Wembly Stadium on Sept 15, which resulted in a 2-1 loss.
Spurs are kind of sputtering right now with three losses out of their five matches in September, so they could really use him right now. However, it looks like they’ll have to find a way to soldier on without Dele Alli for at least a little while longer now too.
The Telegraph reports that he’s out for the league fixture at Huddersfield Town tomorrow, and also a doubt for the big UCL clash against Barcelona in midweek. Some reports have indicated that he could be gone a month, and if that’s the case he’ll miss a couple more major matches- PSV Eindhoven in the UCL on October 24 and Manchester City on October 29.
Alli has two goals this season across all competitions.
